We are back from Jersey! And what a great time we had! little recap..In one week we ate, watched movies, went to the jersey shore and walked on the beach, went to times square, saw a broadway show, watched a Hitchcock matinee on the big screen, had lunch with one of Caroline's best friends Joe in the village sitting next to Mike Myers!,sang silent night with candles lit at church, played with fire works at midnight in the driveway with Caroline's mom, dad and sister, drank champagne to toast in the New Year! went to see the delaware river where Washington crossed during the Revoluntionary War,ate again, and drove a total of 20 hours to and from home!
what a crazy couple of weeks!

Lamenting for more TURKEY
Its hard to believe it was one week ago we were stuffing our faces around the Thanksgiving table! We had a lot to be thankful of this year! We drove to New Jersey on Tuesday night, kitty in tow! We only hit about 2 minutes of an ice storm in our rented Hyundai Accent!! Our car was PACKED full of laundry...and with the kitty we looked like we were moving in! Some highlites of the weekend were going to see Walk the Line...the new Johhny Cash movie..it was SOOO good...we also went to the great swamp to see an endangered bird exhibt...it was very cold but very fun walking through the swamp area...We saw an awesome bald eagle up close! What an amazing animal. We also saw a red tail hawk, a bunch of owls and some white snowy looking birds...it was a fun afternoon! I have always been sort of an animal activist when it comes to birds in cages..I mean, the glory of the bird is that it can fly...you know what I mean? But these were only there because they had a broken wing or something like that...Then they would be let go as soon as they are healed. And it really was a natural environment.I thought it was a little ironic we went to a bird exhibt the day before we ATE one all day long....oh the hypocrisy!Especially as we drove a way to the scene of a herd of wild turkeys on the front lawn...Little did they know they were being rehabilitated for next year's Thanksgiving dinner! Thanksgiving dinner was REALLY good this year...My sister accidently cooked the bird the day before thanksgiving in the plastic for 15 minuted in the oven not knowing it was in there...So we were a little afraid of what it might taste like...WELL Martha Stewart beware!! it was the best turkey i had ever had...I mean you really didn't even need to put gravy on it..who knows...maybe some of the plastic held in the juices or something...On Friday Scott and I went to have lunch with some of my friends from high school. Two of which were in our wedding..That was fun...Saturday my dad took Scott out in a couple of his cars...driving REALLY fast in old race cars was a little scary and fun for Scott...He really gets a kick out of it...Then Sunday we just relaxed...preparing for the long trip back on Monday!
WALK OF SHAME...we had to take a LONG walk after Thanksgiving Dinner!!!

Belle REALLY wanted some food from Scott...WHO Could say no to that face????

Completely useless information-except for a select few
So currently I am at work waiting for a meeting to start...and I went into the kitchen to make some hot chocolate out of this HUGE container we have in our office of swiss miss...and I found myself thinking about living in kc with Katie and how we pretty much lived on our crzy roomate Jean's hot cocoa...We would literally do hot cocoa fasts!and it made me miss the girls i lived with in kc...now don't get me wrong....i love being married...but i also miss all the whacky girls i lived with...Jean...who slept in a hammock and left really strange voice mail recording on the home phone so that when people called they would be freaked out...nicole...who was always talking about really spiritual stuff..like you couldn't come in and just talk about stuff like the weather and the day of the week it all meant something deeper...and amy...who was always home and always deep into something she was doing and left a wooden spoon in the bathroom and other weird stuff in our kitchen sink(wink wink. katie)and Amanda...who was always dancing around the living room or brushing her teeth with her electric tooth brush...and Sarah who was always dressed to the nines looking fabulous going to Nordstroms or watching Friends episodes on Tyrone....and Katie...who was there to witness all the craziness with me and we would just sit in our bedroom..(which you couldn't see the floor in cause of all our clothes).... and laugh...anyway..there is no real point to this blog...as i read back over my entry i feel a little like this is the part where i am writing the end of a doogie howser episode where he would always end on his computer journal writing something really poignant and heart warming.but contrary to popular belief i am not a 15 year old medical doctor.so....bye.

a flowing stream of semi-consciousness
hey friends-haven't blogged in a while...Scott is out golfing with our friend rich today so i thought i would catch us all up...we are doing alrighty...excited to go home for Thanksgiving...I haven't really spent ANY extended time at home since last thanksgiving so it will be good to just hang out for a while. I recently got an e-mail from a friend from high school who i haven't talked to in years. I started explaining to Scott that we were really GREAT friends in high school..He thought it was odd I had never talked about her..I started thinking about all the people in my life i have connected with who were just there for that season. And as close as we were we just kind of lost touch. How does that happen? And then how is it that other friends..well just kind of stick...and time and distance does not really effect your friendship...but Then when you reconnect with some of the close friends who have lost touch..its like well, we were such close friends that we can't really just be surfacey, but at the same time..there is So much to catch up on...Anyway..just something I have been thinking about..blah blah blah...we had dinner with friends of ours the other night who have just adopted a second baby boy from Columbia...where I was adopted from...they brought us back enough columbian coffee for a month..a really funny nativity chiva and loads of cocaine...hahaha..just kidding about that last part...hahha...i thought it was funny....anyway...Their first son Mac is so cute but very shy..He is going through that baby chubby phase..and being the funny people they are..well..they dressed him up as a big mac for halloween..and i think this picture is maybe one of the cutest i've seen.enjoy...

I had my first public sculpture display this weekend at a Cincinnati House of Prayer (CHOP) conference with Gary Wiens. On Thursday morning I set it up. Caroline found white specks on the front of the sculpture’s jacket. It had only been up for 20 minuets and I did not know what was going on. Then I thought it might be the light I had shinning on it, curing the fresh plaster. I had not let the plaster dry enough before I painted it…whops! So I brought it back out to the car and touched it up, and displayed it without a light. At the end of the night it had some more white dots showing, so I brought it home and cleaned it up the next morning, and it did fine today. Overall the piece had a great response.
My experience was that I felt nervous when people were looking at it and reading the description. I did not know how people would respond to it I guess. I saw some people touch it and taping it. I would feel more comfortable with the touching if it was a bronze, (hopefully someday it will be cast), but it is a plaster reproduction from a mold that I made.
Expectation Met,
7/05,
Plaster reproduction,
This sculpture is the manifestation of a prophetic word that my wife Caroline and I received during our pre-marital counseling. The word that we received was a picture. The picture is of a man standing before an ocean with a cup in his hand asking Jesus to fill his cup. What the man does not realize is that where he is standing is before a vast ocean, which is actually what the Lord wants to give him. Our counselor spoke over our marriage with this picture saying that God wants to give us more then we realize. The way I interpreted this word was that Jesus will meet this mans level of expectation by filling his cup, but Jesus actually wants to give him so much more. Jesus wants to give him the ocean, yet this is something he cannot contain!
While earthing this word at CHOP, two weeks ago I heard Jesus say to me that this man is also the church of Cincinnati and He wants to be his friend. Jesus has more for the church of Cincinnati then she thinks she deserves! There is a deeper revelation of love called intimacy or friendship. Jesus wants to release this love and it’s like the size of an ocean when compared to a cup. We the church, will receive that ocean only through asking…

Hello friends..Haven't blogged in a while...Things here in Northern Kentucky are good. Although it has gotten cold and grey in the past couple of days. We have been quite busy lately with work and our various activities. I got somewhat of a promotion at my job this past week. I will be working another 10 hours a week on the abstinence portion of the center. I will be getting pastors and youth pastors to partner with New Hope in learning how to teach sexual abistenance to young people in their churches. Pretty cool stuff...Most churches are so afraid to talk about this subject with their young people. And ignorance leads to bad choices...hopefully if more young people choose abistience we won't have 15 year old pregnant girls coming to our center! That would be awesome! Scott's job is going well too...It is great seeing him come home excited because he is learning how to bend metal...a little different than me:) In other news, we are coming on our 6 month anniversary! crazy stuff...Overall it has been great..Being married is hard work though! We are really trying to be proactive about it though..we are reading the book His Needs, Her Needs..recommended by our premarital councelers a long time ago...it is interesting how we both recieve love in different ways...and we have to learn how that happens with the other person...Like I feel loved when we spend time together..and he feels loved when I make him lunch...anyway..its eye opening...Our friend Josh from KC is coming into town next week to visit..we are excited because he is our first visitor! We are both taking next friday off and we are picking him up in louisville kentucky so we are going to go to churchill downs where the derby is every year and tour that area a little..if you have ever been there and have suggestions of fun things to see let us know! well thats it for now...hope you enjoyed pictures of our kitty! she is SO cute!
